To whom it may concern,
Life for the people who live in the Bottoms gets progressively worse every day. No one understands just how bad it is until they experience it for themselves.
The minute you enter this massive wasteland the air is thick, heavy, and putrid. A musty cloud overhangs the area, and it is distraught and out of order. To begin, no one has neither adequate nor healthy living conditions. The houses are eaten at the edges and seem to continuously corrode as days pass by. The grass is brown, if there is any at all. Life is absolutely horrible in this area that is inhabited as I write this letter.
How can you let such a thing happen? These people are suffering and no one is doing anything about it. I have already mentioned the living conditions, but now education is an issue. The people who live in this community do not have the funds to contribute to any sort of school system. The schools that currently exist are, like the houses, corroded and not acceptable places for community gathering to even take place. There are not enough books or supplies to provide to the children who live in the community and the supplies that are available are extremely outdated.
So you think housing and education are the only problems for these people? No. Finally, there is a massive problem with pollution and waste. The basements of residents have turned into sludge pools of sewage material. I cannot tell you how sad it is to see how these people have to live day in and day out in sewage. The backyards of residents have turned into garbage dumps because garbage companies forget to pick up the trash sometimes so all it does is accumulate. The people do not deserve this kind of treatment. I cannot believe that garbage companies can just miss out on an area.
So here is my proposal. There needs to be more tax money so that the people can survive in a humane way. These people cannot just be the forgotten ones. They cannot survive by themselves, there needs to be some action. Please take this into consideration. We cannot leave these people behind; they deserve what we are able to give. So, if we have the power to provide them with what we can, we should do it.
