Everyday Use

Below are two prompts about "Everyday Use." Pick one and write a post. As always, these are due by 5 p.m. on Sunday.

1. In the story, Dee is asserting her independence. As a college student, you are also asserting your independence. Compare and contrast your sense of independence with Dee's. What are some ways that your asserting your independence?

2. The story is told from Mamma's point of view. How would it be different if told from Dee's point of view, or Maggie's point of view? Re-write the end of "Everyday Use" in Dee or Maggie's point of view.
