Literacy Community

Response to the second prompt.

I belong to several literacy communities, but the most important one that I belong to is the family circle. This community consists of my parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins, and other immediate family members.
There are several specific rules that must be followed in this particular literacy community. Everyone in the family literacy community needs to know how to read and write and also how to converse with each other. Some specifics on how to converse with each other is that everyone must respect each other and treat others how they would want to be treated. This is common in many literacy communities, but in the family community it is very important to follow to ensure that no one will be upset with each other or be mad at each other.
Another rule in the community is that everyone needs to behave in a cordially manner in which your language must be proper and no yelling at someone without a proper excuse or reason. This is to make sure that everyone has the proper chance to defend themselves in the chance that someone in the family blames something on another family member in the literacy community. This is important to keep everyone in the community happy and to keep the peace in the family community.
The final rule that the community must abide by is that everyone must be friendly to each other. This comes in several different forms such as writing cards to each other, calling each other on the phone and coming together as a group every once in a while. I would say that everyone in my literacy group firmly communicates with each other as described above. This is extremely important as to the functionality of the group as a whole and also leads the way to accomplish goals with the group.
All someone has to do to become a member of this particular literacy group is to be a member of the family and follow the simple rules above. Also, someone can learn how to be even more literate in this particular literacy community because everyone helps each other and try’s to enhance everyone’s literacy style. Everyone helps the younger members read and write to become more literate. I feel that our literacy community is extremely important to the way we communicate and our community has a great influence on the way that we are literate in our lifestyles.
