Writing

To me, writing has not changed at all over the year. I do not believe that my writing has evolved or improved at all during this year. While some people might believe that writing is the best way to understand whats being said in a class, I personally disagree with that. The whole idea of writing is just to restate whats being said in your own words. Just because that can be done does not always mean that the student understands whats being said, they can just be good at rearranging or repeating what was said. Many different things have to be done to prove that the student can in fact understand all thats being said, but this can not be done just by writing a response. Also, writing something is the easiest thing to do to get away with saying very little and still making it look important and long with out getting caught. This is because there is so many different ways to word whats being said that it can be repeated many different times with out the reader realizing it. So if you are writing a paper and run out of things to say before it meets the length requirement then most students will just go back and add more to their points but all that is really happening is they are rehashing what has already been said. Most teachers do not capture that happening and so students can get away with it.
